BNWA is pleased to introduce Miss Robin Erickson a Suzuki Association violin teacher. She is certified at the highest Suzuki certification level. We are now accepting registration for violin lessons, just give us a call or come by the studio.
Beyond the Yellow Brick Road Information Ballet North West Academy is excited to once again offer our fall production "Beyond the Yellow Brick Road". Choreographic Director: Kirsten Garrett and Musical Director Melissa Warren, this musical is sure to be a great big hit! SYNOPSIS:
“Beyond The Yellow Brick Road”, tells the stories of the witches from Oz. It tells the stories of Ginda the Good, and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and how they came to be. By going back in time before Dorothy ever came to Oz, and following the story until after both Dorothy and the Wizard leave, we are able to discover why the jeweled shoes were so important to the Wicked Witch. Also, by looking a little closer at the classic characters that we have all come to love, we are able to decide whether or not they are good or bad, or just misunderstood.
Kingdom of the Sweets Preview Pacific Classical Ballet will kick-off a week-long fundraising event at Barnes & Noble on November 29th with a preview of Kingdom of the Sweets. Variations will be performed throughout the day, along with two special presentations of Pirouettes on the Page at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. We will have a pointe shoe decoration station, gift-wrapping, ballet mime presentations, and more! Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of purchases made by PCB supporters -- just use the book fair voucher anytime between November 29th and December 5th to help PCB raise funds for master classes, costumes, a portable floor, and more.
December Open House and Class Recital During normal class time, family and friends are welcomed into the classroom for a special class demonstration and lecture as well as a small intimate class recital. Open house was designed and intended for a couple of reasons. First, for the younger dancers, it gives them the opportunity to perform in front of a small and familiar audience. This gives them the confidence and self-esteem to accomplish larger performances in the future. For all of our parents, Open House gives you a peek into the teachers plans for the dancers and where they are in the training. The teacher will explain what the dancers are currently learning and what can be expected in the future. They will also go into detail on how and why the dancers are doing what they are doing and how it all blends into their long term training and education.
Pacific Classical Youth Ballet and BNWA Repertory presents The Nutcracker Suites was the ballet most audience members attended before mid-1960's. Written by Marius Petipa in 1891 and composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1891–92, Op. 71 is a fairy tale-ballet in two acts, three scenes. The suite was first performed, under the composer's direction, on 19 March 1892 at an assembly of the St. Petersburg branch of the Musical Society. The suite became instantly popular; the complete ballet did not achieve its great popularity until around the mid-1960s.
Hansel and Gretel: A Children's Ballet Ballet North West Academy and Pacific Classical Ballet are pleased to present our seventh annual full length children's ballet with original choreography by Michele Major.
