American Ballet Theatre is recognized as one of the
great dance companies in the world. Few ballet companies equal ABT for
its combination of size, scope and outreach. Founded in 1940, ABT annually
tours the United States, performing for more than 600,000 people, and
is the only major cultural institution to do so. |

The University of Texas at Austin became the newest
site for American Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensive program in 2001.
The summer intensive program is a four-week session, and includes both
high level technique classes and lecture courses on subjects critical
to the development of a well-rounded dancer. |

Anaheim Ballet's mission is to enlighten and entertain
audiences with classically rooted programming and contemporary presentation.
Anaheim Ballet provides quality performances, and acts as a magnet to
international talents. Their Educational Outreach and Scholarship program
is committed to the promotion of classical ballet. |

The Ballet West Academy, the official school of Ballet
West, provides excellence in ballet instruction. The Academy offers a
structured curriculum that includes ballet technique, pointe, variations,
character dance, classes for boys, adult classes and more. The curriculum
features professional and nurturing instruction from a reputable staff. |

Boston Ballet School promotes excellence and access
to ballet through dance education, and offer complete classical ballet
training through a modern curriculum. Their goal is to develop versatile
and well-rounded dancers and to provide our students with the immeasurable
value of a dance education that extend beyond technique. |

Established in 1965, the Briansky Ballet Center has
one goal: to provide students of dance with a professional training program
under the supervision of a highly qualified faculty. BBC is committed
to developing more than just technical abilities. The confidence of each
student is cultivated by channeling their energies into disciplined self-expression. |

Founded in 1976, Burklyn Ballet Theatre's goal is
to bring to the world of dance a program of the highest artistic caliber,
employ the best teachers, and give performance opportunities to all participating
dancers in a beautiful and safe environment. The dancers learn
many aspects of professional dance company life in a positive environment. |

BYU’s Summer Ballet Workshops offer experience
in artistic training, including ballet technique, pointe and variations,
character, jazz, and modern dance. Activities and discussions in conditioning,
nutrition, and injury prevention will complement the two weeks of dance
instruction and rehearsal, culminating in a showcase of what has been
learned. |

Students will have classes 6 days a week in ballet
technique, pas de deux, classical variations and repertory, including
modern, character, jazz, drama, musical theater, and social dancing.
Classes in dancer health and well-being are also offered. Houston Ballet
also has a pilates program, which offeres both private and group pilates
sessions. |

The Pre-Professional Program guides its participants
on a journey that values artistic risk-taking and pushes them towards
independent thinking and problem solving. LINES Ballet School encourages
students to make choices with the goal to realize and achieve their full
artistic potential. |

Magnus Midwest Dance Intensive (formerly Joffrey
Midwest Dance) is a comprehensive summer training program for the pre-professional
dancer. The rigorous training requires dedication, commitment, hard
work and spirit. Magnus Midwest Dance
Intensive is the ultimate in pre-professional ballet training. |

The UNCSA School of Dance has a rich history of being
a leader in dance education since 1965. They have quality programs in
both Ballet and Contemporary Dance. Both programs are based on strong
fundamentals that recognize each discipline's specific requirements,
while looking to the other for collaboration and inspiration. |

The Conservatory boasts an international classical
ballet faculty that trains in the Nutmeg methodology of combining the
Vaganova technique with a blend of neo-classical and contemporary training.
Nutmeg is unique in its dedication to teaching classical ballet alongside
a full resident performance season. |

Oregon's premiere professional ballet company is
gaining national recognition and worldwide attention. Known as one of
the preeminent ballet schools in the country, the School of OBT is dedicated
to developing professional dancers and knowledgeable audience members.
The School's mission is to provide the highest quality dance training
to all its students. |

The Summer Course curriculum offers serious ballet
students classical training, augmented by a diversity of dance forms
necessary to meet the demands of dance companies today. Summer Course
also offers students seminars on a wide variety of topics relevant to
the young dancer including nutrition, dance history, foot health and
pointe shoe care. |

The Summer Intensive Session is a highly-selective,
audition-only program that immerses the aspiring dancer in a 2, 4 or
6 week intensive session of ballet. During the Intensive, classes are
conducted Mondays through Fridays for all levels. Students attending
the Summer Intensive often progress rapidly and increase their abilities
significantly. |

The Department of Ballet offers three emphases in
which a ballet major can train: Performing, Teaching, and Character Dance.
Students benefit from more one-on-one time with professors and professionals
who serve as mentors, as well as opportunities for connecting with Ballet
West and participating in outreach activities. |
