American Ballet Theatre

American Ballet Theatre is recognized as one of the great dance companies in the world. Few ballet companies equal ABT for its combination of size, scope and outreach. Recognized as a living national treasure since its founding in 1940, ABT annually tours the United States, performing for more than 600,000 people, and is the only major cultural institution to do so.

Boston Ballet

Boston Ballet, founded in 1963 by E. Virginia Williams, was the first professional repertory ballet company in New England. Under the leadership of Artistic Directors Violette Verdy (1980-1984), Bruce Marks (1985-1997), and Anna-Marie Holmes (1997-2000), the Ballet's national and international reputation has grown. The Company is now one of the major ballet companies in North America and among the top companies in the world.

The Rock School

The Summer Intensive Session is a highly-selective, audition-only program that immerses the aspiring dancer in a 2, 4 or 6 week intensive session of ballet. Only students from the ages of 9 to 21 may audition. During the Intensive, classes are conducted at Rock Centre Mondays through Fridays for all levels. Due to this intensive training, students attending the Summer Intensive often progress rapidly and increase their abilities significantly.

Lines Ballet

The Pre-Professional Program guides its participants on a journey that values artistic risk-taking and pushes them towards independent thinking and problem solving. LINES Ballet School encourages students to make choices with the goal to realize and achieve their full artistic potential.

Nutmeg Conservatory

The opportunity to perform is a major distinction of the Nutmeg Ballet. Throughout the year, the Nutmeg Ballet maintains a complete performance season including Fall Repertoire, Spring Repertoire, and the International Summer Festival. At the 1,700 seat Art Deco style Warner Theatre in Torrington, the newly renovated 2700-seat Palace Theater in Waterbury, and the 1500-seat Naugatuck Valley Main Stage, students also appear in full-length productions, such as Nutcracker, Coppelia, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and other classics.

Burklyn Ballet Theatre

Angela Whitehill, Founding Artistic Director, was trained by the National Ballet of Canada and at the Arts Educational Schools in London. Founded in 1976, Burklyn Ballet Theatre's goal is to bring to the world of dance a program of the highest artistic caliber, employ the best teachers, and give performance opportunities to all participating dancers in a beautiful and safe environment.  The dancers learn many aspects of professional dance company life in a positive environment.

Houston Ballet

Students will have classes 6 days a week in ballet technique, pas de deux, classical variations and repertory, including modern, character, jazz, drama, musical theater, and social dancing. Classes in dancer health and well-being are also offered. Houston Ballet also has a pilates program, which offeres both private and group pilates sessions.
