Mary Poppins

Trudy, Lisa, Polly, and Mary are four disobedient little girls who have difficulty following the rules that their parents and nannies give them. These trouble-makers are such a handful, that many nannies simply cannot handle the stress of working with them. As a result, Mr. and Mrs. Bloom are forced to place an advertisement for a harsher Nanny who will "lay down the law." The children write their own advertisement, in search of a "practically perfect" nanny. Two nannies appear, one strict and one delightful, and the Blooms endure many adventures with each. A Jolly Holiday is a magical musical with the wonderful Mary Poppins leading the way!

Cast List : A Jolly Holiday Cast List(pdf)

Note from Ms. Madeleine: In the audition, each person needs to fill out the audition form and bring it with them. They will be assigned numbers and will audition in groups. They do not need to have anything prepared other than the lyrics to an excerpt of Jolly Holiday. Click here, for the lyric. A track to sing to will be available on the day of auditions. Students will sing in small groups without an audience, and then older girls will sing as a group once, and then individually.

There will be a short dance break that everyone will learn and perform in groups, and after that, they will have a "cold read" from the script. In the cold readings, girls will be given a short excerpt of the script to look at for a few minutes with a group. They will perform their short scenes with scripts in hand. The youngest students will have a very short dance audition, while the other students take a look at their scenes. After each group has gone, everyone will be dismissed.

$80 performance fee per cast member due at audition
